Fulfill is seeking a team builder with strong skills in operations management and leadership for its next Operations Manager. As a leader of the Operations team, the Operations Manager is responsible for the overall safety, management, shift execution, direction, coordination and control of all distribution operations, including warehouse operations, transportation, and maintenance of vehicles and buildings. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Operations Manager is both close to the day-to-day operations of the business and also strategy by contributing to the execution and effectiveness of Fulfill. They do this by leveraging strong leadership skills, sound judgement, resourceful problem-solving and efficient processes.
In this role, you will build an “audit-ready” culture of operational practices that comply with all Safety Guidelines, government regulations, and contractual obligations pertaining to workplace, transportation and food safety. In addition you will be responsible for aspects of USDA programs (e.g. scheduling, reporting, allocation process & compliance), performs and lead the execution of inventory activities pertaining to inbound and outbound operations, with appropriate policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure supply chain integrity, manage the operations team towards KPIs in safety, efficiency, quality, cost and accuracy, create contractor/vendor plans and oversee the maintenance, security and utilization of facilities, fleet, and equipment. And find solutions to barriers and obstacles using problem-solving skills, when presented with obstacles from internal and external partners and stakeholders. The Operations Manager will directly supervise approximately five employees, to include Supervisor, Coordinator and Lead level team members. Their span of control will include a team of 20+ employees.
Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years in a leadership role in a warehouse operation, preferably with a food bank or in the food service industry. Experience in business management, supply chain, manufacturing, transportation and budget management is preferred along with a demonstrated ability to assess, utilize and develop personnel and effectively communicate, motivate and lead at all levels to all audiences. Must have experience using and learning new Warehouse Management Software platforms to perform transactions, inventory management and other functions.
This position is located at a warehousing/distribution facility. With warehouse and truck traffic in the facility and grounds, a few steps to walk up into the facility and product stacked and stored throughout, this position requires someone who is mobile and who can watch for traffic and normal hazards of a warehouse environment. While performing the job duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, lift, reach, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and/or reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Must be able to use a computer to track data, write reports and receive information; must be able to communicate by phone, in person; must be able to drive to and from meetings, events, and business errands.
